The Veterinary Society for Sumatran Wildlife Conservation (VESSWIC) is an Indonesian organisation, established in 2003 to provide veterinary services to Sumatra’s captive elephant population.
The Elephant Health Care Program assists government Elephant Training Centres in Sumatra address health care and management of the camps’ captive elephants. They support the mahouts and conservation response units as well as conducting awareness programmes.
