Elephant Family currently works with eight local partner organisations in India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, and are looking to extend our programme to wherever the need is greatest.
Our projects work to link fragmented habitat by securing wildlife corridors and creating transit paths – allowing elephants to move safely between feeding sites - as well as to identify and reduce potential conflict situations between elephants and people. We also provide some support to improve the wellbeing of captive elephants.
Furthermore, we draw attention to the plight of Asian elephants, and the need for their protection, while developing a variety of initiatives to reinforce traditional beliefs surrounding elephants, which will help gain the involvement and support of local people for conservation efforts.
