The 25th of May, saw the landmark 50th birthday celebration of the true Elephant Family founder, Tara - the Asian elephant who enchanted Mark Shand and inspired him to set up this charity.
'The Birthday Collection' in London, was a stunning exhibition celebrating the magic and majesty of the Asian elephant.
Angela Connor, one of Britain's most successful and celebrated sculptors created a limited edition set of bronze elephant heads. Wildlife artist Richard Symonds captured the true beauty of Tara herself; and illustrator George Butler, having spent several weeks in India showcased a collection of over 40 ink and pen drawings celebrating Tara and the magic of Mother India. Over £80,000 was raised on the night for our crucial work.
