Conservation Couture was the fashion element to the Survival Tour.
Each of the life-sized Asian elephants wore a completely unique and stunning blanket, designed and produced by world-class fashion houses who supported The Survival Tour campaign.
The collection was designed by:
- Alberta Ferretti
- Diane Von Furstenberg
- Carolina Herrera
- Tommy Hilfiger
- Calvin Klein
- Donna Karan’s Urban Zen
- Ralph Lauren
- Julien Macdonald
- Isaac Mizrahi
- Tarun Tahiliani
- Alice Temperley
- Twenty8Twelve
The sale of these stunning blankets directly funded some of our most important projects in the field.
"When I saw pictures of the elephants it reminded me of my favourite dress ever that I created by accident in 1995 also. The mistaken embroidery was incredible beautiful, made of sheer ribbon flowers, and I made a series of dresses in it which went on to become signatures. I liked dressing my elephant in happy pink things, because I think they're wonderful happy creatures and symbols of good fortune. Everyone has to do their part to help the elephants. Fashion has a huge place in its heart for these dear creatures." Isaac Mizrahi.
