Elephant Healthcare Project, Sumatra - home to Dargo, Sadat and Tanti.
Indonesia has the highest rate of deforestation in the world. As a result, the Sumatran elephant is now mostly displaced and under serious threat. Many are held in Elephant Conservation Centres where they languish, sometimes unwell or just plain bored.

We would love all elephants to live in the wild, but around 6,000 are working in captivity in India alone. We work alongside Jaipur's elephants who carry tourists up the steep hill to the historic Amer Fort and Palace.

Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation, Thailand - home to Plai Tawan and Nong Dah
In 1989, logging was banned in Thailand and thousands of elephants were made redundant. Many are now used to begin the cities. Golden Triangle is a safe haven for street elephants in the unlikeliest of places - the grounds of a luxury spa hotel!
